Prof. Stefan Rahmstorf (a renowned climate researcher at the PIK Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research PIK) took this photo two days ago whilst on holiday in Lacanau. No filters. He had to cut his holiday ...short.
The fire is now racing towards Bordeaux.

The European Central Bank, through its President Christine Lagarde, has unveiled the designs for the new euro banknotes. They are based on the preferences of nearly 400,000 Europeans as expressed in a 2023 survey. The most important themes for them were culture, rivers, and birds.
Design ...agencies have now submitted five designs for each of these two themes. Which ones do you like best, and why? Let us know in the comments and cast your vote in the ECB’s new survey, which runs through the end of September and will have a decisive influence on the final decision at the end of 2026.

Die European Central Bank hat über ihre Präsidentin Christine Lagarde die Entwürfe für neue Euro-Banknoten vorgestellt. Sie basieren auf Wünschen von fast 400.000 Europäerinnen und Europäern aus einer Umfrage in 2023. Die wichtigsten Themen für sie waren Kultur bzw. Flüsse und Vögel.
