#NoVeto campaign: Abolition of the right of veto in the EU

#NoVeto – The European Union must abolish the unanimity principle – for the good of all Europeans!

We criticize:

The blocking privilege weakens the European Union’s ability to act. It hinders the development of a strong European presence in the world and paralyzes EU decision-making.

We demand:

In the future, the interests of the majority of EU member states must no longer be blocked by the interests of individual countries. #NoVeto

We have already achieved a lot:

At our #HomeParliaments, a large majority voted FOR the elimination of unanimity.

And a very big success:

The plenary of the Conference on the Future of Europe (CofoE), has adopted #NoVeto, as one of the key demands in its final document!

#NoVeto - Pulse of Europe calls for an end to the right of veto in the EU Council to strengthen Europe's ability to act and democracy for the future.

Stephanie Hartung of Pulse of Europe, as the German representative of the national citizens’ forums, was very committed to this decision. She also found clear words at the handover of the final declaration in the EU Parliament – addressed to EU Commission President Ursula v.d. Leyen, who was present in person, EU Parliament President Roberta Metsola and Emanuel Macron as acting EU Council President.
