Our campaign for the 2024 European elections!
“Defend the heart of Europe – with your voice!” Similar to 2019, this election should once again be a very landmark election and play a huge role for democracy across the European Union.
“We are in a poly crisis!” – This was our impression, not only at the beginning of the year and our campaign. Concern, frustration and powerlessness are spreading in Europe, many people are disappointed with the EU and criticize it. The credibility of the EU is in doubt.
We wanted to build on this and counteract this assumption by showing that there is no alternative to the EU. Against the backdrop of current political developments, the mood and forecasts emanating from numerous national parliamentary elections in the European member states, every vote counted in the 2024 European elections!
Our aim was to achieve a voter turnout of over 50% across Europe and over 60% in Germany. We have achieved this with 51% in Europe and over 64% in Germany! Compared to 2019, this is another 3 percentage points more!
With our mobilization campaign “Defend the heart of Europe. With your vote.” we wanted to motivate the convinced to go out and vote. Voters should be encouraged to vote pro-European. This year, 16-year-olds were allowed to cast their vote in Germany for the first time: Young/first-time voters should be informed about their right to vote and its importance. We therefore involved as many partners as possible on the way to the European elections.
As a non-partisan and independent citizens’ movement, we therefore wanted to remain true to our principles in this important election. This meant that we called on civil society to vote (pro-European), but we still did not make an election recommendation.
Our campaign therefore focused on uniform communication and many joint agreements. A communication line with fixed messages and designs in a catchy look, which run through all the measures of the campaigns, were found everywhere.
The campaign character should primarily be mobilizing, informative, positive, offensive, empowering, emotionalizing and unifying.
The special feature of our campaign: all materials and print templates were available for all actions and events, for all multipliers and, above all, for all citizens up to the European elections, because every opportunity was important to be visible nationwide and, above all, uniformly with this campaign!

The EUROMAT
Whose European policy was the best choice for you? With our EUROMAT, this could be found out in just a few steps. In short questions, you can find out whose election program for the 2024 European elections best matches your views. In contrast to the Wahl-O-Mat, our EUROMAT supplemented the election aid with all European parties running for the European Parliament. Friends will be Friends – Election video with our partner Alliance for Europe!
Our friends at A4E have created an inspiring video of friendship that reminds us how important it is to stand together for a better future. Every vote counts and can make a difference. Together with our friends, we have stood up for a strong, united Europe.
Frankfurt Airport
In the run-up to the election, Fraport AG allowed us to play out our campaign via the “Digital Entrance Network” of Terminal 1 at Frankfurt Airport.
SG Eintracht Frankfurt
We were also able to rely on Eintracht Frankfurt and our campaign was not only shown in the “Heart of Europe” on the video cube of the Waldstadion, but also in the “Blättche” and on the SGE website.
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim was the first soccer club in this campaign to display our motifs in the stadium, this time on the perimeter board. We were present here during the last three home games of the 2023/24 season.
DZ Bank
As in 2019, DZ Bank provided us with its “City Light Poster” on Mainzer Landstrasse in Frankfurt am Main.
TSV Eintracht Braunschweig
BTSV also provided us with the use of its perimeter boards for the home match against SV Wehen-Wiesbaden.
FC Bayern Basketball
The basketball department of FC Bayern Munich played our motifs on the video cube of the BMW Park.
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
We are particularly grateful to the FAZ, which printed our campaign advertisements in its issues of June 3 and 7.
Europapark Rust
Europapark supported us by displaying our campaign motifs on the park’s digital screens.
Visible on the streets and squares of Europe!
Without our committed and motivated network and the great and creative ideas of our European activists, our campaign would not have become what it is today. An election appeal by citizens for citizens!
Our sugar cone campaign
Our sugar cone campaign presented over 100 favorite cafés with a box of 1,000 sugar cones each to promote the 2024 European elections.
This enabled us to reach over 100,000 people and talk to them about the upcoming election and our campaign.
